Presentation:
Wildlife Corridors and Habitat Connectivity
Speakers:
Glen Kalisz, WSDOT Habitat Connectivity Support Structures
Nate Daniel, Great Peninsula Conservancy
While roads are so ubiquitous they’re practically invisible to us, wild animals experience them as entirely alien forces of death and disruption. We share the Kitsap peninsula with abundant wildlife, from amphibians and fish to bears and everything in between. But with our rapidly expanding infrastructure, shopping centers, housing developments, and even recreational trails, we are fragmenting their habitat to the point of daily collisions and imminent destruction. Join our discussion about harmonious solutions.
