The KC Comprehensive Plan has a section on Parks, and the county is also updating its 2018
PROS (Parks, Recreation, and Open Space) Plan. In order to obtain grants from the state’s
Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) to help fund county parks, KC Parks must maintain
an updated PROS plan with the state.

A core group of KEC members are focusing specifically on parks and how to address
recreational interests occurring in the home of the flora and fauna that make life possible on this
planet. Parks and open spaces are key to a healthy interrelationship between residents and nature.
